Panic Afoot While A Plan Unfolds

There has been, in some corners, a bit of panic over events of the summer as regards the Health Care Reform Debate. Perhaps it is time to step back and look at things from another angle. Maybe the White House won the month of August. The opponents of reform have been over the top. They have done everything possible to derail the Reform Express, ranging from histrionics to outright disinformation and lies. Yet, as September unfolds, the train is still ready to go. Public support for reform is still high. Some of Obama's numbers went down, but maybe he was playing a rope a dope strategy -- tiring out the Opposition while waiting to unleash an effective counter punch.

Maybe, just maybe, the opposition has shot it's wad. That it is a possibility that they have nothing left in the tank, having expended the kitchen sink. And some on the fence will realize it is not a safe place to be. And perhaps commen sense, sprinkled with the realization the Minority can do little to prevent the train from leaving the station will resolve the issue.

Reform is coming. Only it's form remains to be negotiated.
